Omega Speedmaster and Seamaster strap guide

Strap Guide: Omega Speedmaster & Seamaster — Choosing the Right Strap

The Speedmaster and Seamaster are two of the most recognisable tool watches Omega makes, and both are more versatile off the bracelet than most owners realise. Here's how to think about the strap swap, whether you're wearing a Moonwatch or a Diver 300M.

Rubber — the closest thing to a default

For both the Speedmaster and Seamaster, rubber is the strap most owners reach for first, and for good reason. It's built for the same conditions the watch is: water, heat, daily wear. Our rubber straps are moulded from high-density material with a tapered fit down to a brushed steel buckle, so the transition from case to strap stays clean rather than bulky. Black is the safe, correct choice on a Speedmaster's black dial; on a blue-dialled Seamaster, navy or sky blue picks up the dial tone without matching it exactly, which tends to look more considered than an exact match.

Prefer not to deal with a buckle at all? The same straps come in a deployable-clasp version, which closes with one motion and keeps a consistent, secure fit.

Saffiano leather — for the Speedmaster off the wrist of an astronaut

The Speedmaster's chronograph pushers and dial layout read as dressier than most dive watches, which makes it one of the few sport-adjacent watches that genuinely works on leather. A Saffiano leather strap plays into that, giving the Moonwatch a more considered, wear-with-a-jacket look without pretending it's something it isn't.

Elastic loop — lightweight, low-fuss

On the Seamaster in particular — a watch that's meant to be worn hard — an elastic loop strap is worth trying. There's no buckle to catch or adjust, it stretches to a snug fit, and it comes in enough colours to match the dial rather than fight it. It's a strap you put on and stop thinking about.

Fit across references

Our straps are cut to fit the Seamaster Diver 300M and Speedmaster Professional families, as well as the Omega x Swatch MoonSwatch collaboration. If you're unsure which width your specific reference takes, our compatibility guide covers it in under a minute.
